Despite our Whedonesque misgivings, we're still very much here for Drew Goddard and a just pre-fame Chris Hemsworth. There's a lot of speculation about how many times a person has to write or underwrite the same type of character before it MEANS something. We dig into the small but important difference between being clever and being self-aware as the movie identifies a number of important tropes and then...continues them.
